Hormone testing - thyroid profiles, hormone replacement therapies, and adrenal dysfunction tests

ZRT labs have various saliva, urine, and blood spot (finger prick) tests that you perform at home to analyze your hormones prior to and during treatment for hormone optimization.  When we are treating you for hormone optimization we will have the test(s) shipped to your house for you to perform.  The tests come pre-labeled so that you can ship them back for us to review.

Hormone tests obtain profiles of estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and cortisol.  Also, we have two adrenal fatigue tests, the Adrenal Stress profile and Diurnal Cortisol profile along with two thyroid profiles (Essential Thyroid and Elite Thyroid).

Neurotransmitters Profile urine test

Do you suffer from anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or the like?  Obtaining a neurotransmitters profile will paint the picture of your underlying chemical messengers to show where you have deficiencies or excessive neurotransmitters.

Some of these chemical messengers include dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, and histamine.

Sleep Balance urine profile

Chronic insomnia is becoming more prevalent everyday and gets worse as we age.  Insomnia affects 60 million people and by the age of 65 the prevalence of insomnia is about 65%. Due to increased work-related stress, demanding lives, and our society's on-the-go expectations it's not wonder that we struggle to get sleep.

Insomnia is associated with diseases such as obesity, insulin resistance, anxiety/depression, high blood pressure, and hormone deficiencies.

The Sleep Balance profile is a urine test that obtains six measurements of melatonin, the circadian rhythm hormone that regulates sleep cycles.  Furthermore, the Sleep Balance profile measures free and free cortisone both four times.  This complete test gives you a 24 hour synopsis of the hormones that regulate your sleep.

Gut health and microbial mapping test (GI-MAP)

Diagnostic Solutions offers the most comprehensive stool testing available.  With their testing we are able to fully map your gut's microbiome including viruses, parasites, bacteria, zonulin, and molds.  It is now widely known that the gut microbiome plays an integral part in your immune system.

Having such detailed analysis allows us to fully understand the root cause of your illness(es).  Because of such testing we can treat illnesses including celiac disease, gluten/gliadin intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), C. Dif infections, H. Pylori infections, chronic constipation/chronic diarrhea, leaky gut, and even improve the live's of patients with autism.

Genomic Insight

Another test that Diagnostic Solutions offers is the Genomic Insight.  This test gives us a comprehensive report of your body's genetic predispositions to diseases such as metabolic diseases, inflammatory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, psychiatric diseases, and even anti-aging resistance.

With the Genomic Insight report we can custom tailor your lifestyle and treatment plan to prevent diseases and optimize your life.

CytoDx test

Cytokines are chemical messengers that mediate the inflammatory response. Alterations and imbalances in cytokines can lead to autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammatory diseases.

The CytoDx test allows us to "see" what's going on in the body. The detailed report analyzes 16 pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory chemical messengers in the body. Together, we can implement nutrition, medication(s), suppplement(s), and lifestyle interventions to combat your inflammatory responses.

Heavy Metals hair test (both toxic and non-toxic metals)

Due to increased pollution along with exposure to adulterated foods (i.e. mercury in tilapia, cadmium in jewelry) we are constantly being bombarded with toxic metals and we don't even know it.  Did you know that cadmium can stay in the body up to 10-30 years after exposure?  Many of these patients are those that work in industrial areas or children who live close to manufacturing facilities.

This simple hair test can analyze "body burden" meaning it can detail  cumulative exposure that one has accrued over time.

Organic acids test (OAT)

Organic acids are chemical compounds that are excreted in the urine.  These are the byproducts of metabolism.  Many genetic conditions result in decreased excretion of organic acids.  There are over 50 known health conditions caused by insufficient excretion of organic acids.

Some of these conditions include autism, schizophrenia, overgrowth of molds including candida and yeast, and ADHD.   Furthermore, biomarkers of oxidative stress, neurotransmitter levels, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies can occur, too.  By knowing your excretion and metabolism pathways we can use precision medicine to treat the root cause of your disease.

MycoTox Profile (mold exposure)

Mycotoxins are some of the most prevalent toxins in the environment with the majority of exposure coming from ingesting contaminated food and airborne.  Unfortunately, mycotoxins are resistant to heat and many food processing practices.  In fact, about 20% of all grains harvested in the European Union have been identified as contaminated with mycotoxins.

Illnesses such as chronic infections/stealth infections, chronic respiratory illnesses, chronic sinus infections, and chronic fatigue can be a result of mycotoxins.  Ever lived in a water-damaged building or worked in a poorly-ventilated facility?  If so, your probability of exposure is high.

With this simple urine test let's work together to identify your mold burden so that we can kill, eliminate, and detox your offending pathogens

IgG Food Allergies w/Candida

Concerned that you may have food intolerances, but not sure where to start? Perhaps you are considering an elimination diet, but are concerned with your diet being too restrictive or even worsening your GI symptoms by accidentally eliminating tolerable foods only to be left eating foods that are making you sick.

With a blood spot (finger prick) collection you can have over 50 different foods, including dairy products, proteins, and vegetables analyzed for antibodies.

Furthermore, the test identifies your antibodies to candida, a type of fungus that has been associated with autoimmune diseases and inflammatory diseases.

If you're considering investing in your health, then you should undergo the IgG Food Allergies test prior to an elimination diet (if you do an elimination diet prior to the Food Allergies test, then we may not be able to identify allergies that otherwise would have been present).

GPL-Tox Profile (172 non-metal toxic chemicals)

Everyday we are exposed to hundreds of toxic chemicals through our environment, pharmaceuticals, food, and even the hygiene products that we use.  Just because they are "safe to sale" does not necessarily mean they are "safe to use."

Some of these chemicals tested include parabens, which are commonly found in cosmetics, soaps, and toothpaste.  Other chemicals tested include phthalates, which are in plastics, industrial chemicals, and even nail polish.

Long-term accumulation of these toxic chemical can lead to neurological disease, endocrine disruption, mitochondrial dysfunction, and psychiatric illnesses.

This test is obtained from a urine sample.

Micronutrient testing

The micronutrient test examines 33 various vitamins and minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, immune response, and your body's carbohydrate metabolism response.  Furthermore, the blood test evaluates these at the cellular level.  Conventional tests measure how much is of these are in the blood however unlike conventional tests, the SpectracCell test evaluates them at the cellular level.  Cellular levels indicate the functional value of these parameters.

Telomere testing

Telomeres are parts of the structure of our DNA strands.  As we age these DNA parts shorten.  Evaluating telomeres shows us our biological age.  However, by knowing our DNA's biological age we can implement nutritional, supplemental, and lifestyle practices to lengthen them.

Male/Female hormone panel

SpectraCell labs offers hormone testing via a blood draw.  For patients who do not want to evaluate their hormones through saliva or a finger prick this is an equivocal alternative.  The hormone test evaluates testosterone (free & total), PSA, estradiol levels (E1 & E2), progesterone, FSH, LH, DHEA-S, and pregnenolone.

Thyroid & adrenals hormone panel

For patients who would rather evaluate their thyroid and adrenal function with serum levels as opposed to saliva or through a finger prick we often use SpectraCell's thyroid & adrenal panel.  Included are TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies, DHEA-S, and cortisol.
